The video attends to the sea as a site of remembrance and collective memory in relation to the journey of indentured labourers crossing into Malaya. Forming new narratives against colonial accounts of the indentured experience, the work looks through the speculative gaze of a wandering sea spirit from different angles and in different moments of time.
